Diamond in the Rough: The Red Petticoat Saloon Series

I'm so pleased to welcome Abbie Adams and Maggie Ryan to my blog today to share another awesome book in Blushing Book's fantastic Red Petticoat Saloon series: Diamond in the Rough.

Blurb:
Marshal Tripp Houston makes his own luck and doesn’t believe in chance—until Lady Luck smiles up at him with her cat-like green eyes. If it’s the last thing he does, Tripp is dead set on bringing down the vile Shotgun Slick Gang. It’s been said that the outlaws have a woman traveling with them. Tripp is almost certain that woman is Diamond, especially with her sneaking around and asking lots of questions. But, if he’s wrong, and she is the innocent she proclaims, then once every last slimy one of the gang are swinging from a tree, he plans to hand in his tin star and settle down with the little card-dealing gem who ran away with not only his horse, but his heart as well. After all, he knows just how to tame a feisty gem.

Diamond won’t take no for an answer, especially when it comes to those bossy men of Culpepper Cove standing in the way of finding her sister Damaris—not even when it means she will end up with a hot, achy backside over the knee of one very stubborn lawman. The trail she’d been following for months led her to Culpepper Cove and The Red Petticoat Saloon where she entertains the men while dealing blackjack and sifting through their conversations for information that will help her find Damaris—but she doesn’t go upstairs. That is until the night she makes a silly bet, (it had worked for Jewel, hadn’t it?) and ends up falling for the man who tried her patience at every turn. Will the bet cost more than her virginity? She hadn’t wagered her heart, but she may very well have lost it to him already.

DISCLAIMER: This book contains the spanking of adult women and explicit sexual scenes including anal play. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase this book.

About The Red Petticoat series:

The Red Petticoat Saloon series is a collection of books written by #1 and USA Today bestselling authors. Each book tells the unique story of a different woman, 'a gem', who comes to the saloon to find a safe haven and discovers they become part of a family. Recurring characters appear in each book to allow readers a continuity as they learn about the women who have learned to bend but have not broken under the harshness that life has to offer. It is a series where strong, loving men find not only entertainment at the saloon but the special women who reside under its roof.

Dear Readers,

Wow! Hasn’t this been exciting? I don’t know about you but I’ve always been a fan of old westerns and more than half in love with dusty old cowboys—and the sterner, the better. John Wayne definitely fueled many of my girlhood daydreams, alongside Sam Elliot and Clint Eastwood. Now, we have Gabe, John, Jeb, Bo and the rest of those dominant men of Culpepper Cove. I hope you’ll find Tripp and Diamond’s story to be fuel for some of your own daydreams.

It didn’t take long for Diamond to start telling me her story. When I heard about The Red Petticoat Saloon Series, I wasn’t sure that I could participate, but Diamond is a woman who won’t be ignored. She demanded her place in the series and she got it. Although, I have to say a big, giant thank you to Maggie Ryan, my co-author.

Sometimes, no matter how vividly the characters talk to you, life happens and you just don’t get a chance to tell their stories. This was the case with my story, Diamond in the Rough. If, not for Maggie, Tripp and Diamond would still be buried on my hard drive with a slew of other unfinished works.

Thank you, Maggie. As always, you make me look good—and I hope you already know I’d be lost without you. Thank you for helping bring these amazing characters to life.

And to our readers, I hope you will fall in love with Culpepper Cover and the Red Petticoat Saloon family.

Truly,
Abbie Adams

Excerpt:
That fear at least was quelled when the marshal held the door open to her and then promptly locked it behind himself. They were alone in the room. She stood frozen, looking at the empty tubs in the center of the room.
"Go ahead and undress while I fill the tub." The man walked right by her. She couldn't believe he expected her to just disrobe. Then she remembered that though there was no concealing wall or even a curtain between the two tubs, there was a privacy screen in one corner. She forced herself not to run towards it though she was suddenly desperate to hide behind its concealment.
"Oh, no, ladybug. You will be naked before me, so there is no reason for you to hide yourself over there. You can just strip right where you are."
She glared at him as mortification filled every part of her being. He was bent on shaming her. This wasn't just some conquest or a prize won and savored. He meant to humiliate her. She turned away from him and her fingers came to the buttons at her neck with trepidation at first. Then slowly as she made it down the row, her irritation built until she stood tall and proud. She would not cower before him or allow herself to be shamed. She was a beautiful, independent woman. She would not let him know how much he affected her.
She stalled only a moment more before pulling her dress from her shoulders. It slid down her sides and landed in a puddle at her feet. Delaney felt naked already and she still had her chemise and petticoat before she even got to her… unmentionables. She peeked back at him as he carried one of the buckets of water that had been heating over the fire to the nearest iron tub. Heat flushed her face when she met his eyes. He was still watching her even though he was pouring the water.
"Keep going, I want you naked," he said, returning to the fire for the next pail.

#SatSpanks FREE Xmas Story!

For #SatSpanks this week I'm excited to announce that Blushing Books is including my Christmas-themed novella
His Christmas Brat in their 12 Days of Christmas promotion!

FREE on December 4!!

In this snippet, Shane (the sexy, tattooed bodyguard commissioned to look after the spoilt Hollywood brat during Christmas in New Zealand) is dressed up as Santa:

“Have you been naughty or nice this year?” he asked her, winking cheekily at her from under his bushy white beard.
“Nice, of course!” she insisted indignantly.
Shane scratched his chin. “Hmmmm. I don’t think you have.” Running his hand up the inside of her thigh he reached up between her legs and pinched the underside of her bottom. “I think you’ve been quite a naughty girl, actually. Come and sit with me and tell me what naughty girls get,” he whispered huskily, pulling her down to sit on his lap.
She sat on his thigh, trailing her hand inside his red Santa shirt to run her fingers teasingly along his chest. She felt the muscles in his torso flex as she scraped her nails across his body, then she jumped as the hand that rested lightly against her back, steadying her, slid down and pinched her bottom again.
“So tell me, young lady – what do naughty girls get?”

Blurb : Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot? By Ashe Barker

She’s recovered, moved on. Her marriage is over. Or is it?

Cain has other ideas. Heather might have left him, fled to the wilds of bloody Scotland of all places to get away from him, but she never even signed the divorce papers he sent her.

He’s wasted enough time and now he’s determined to settle things, one way or another. A decent spanking always used to work, but is it too late?

New year, new start. There’s only one way to find out…

Excerpt:
Cain returned to stand behind her. He took her wrists and lifted them to place her hands against the door, at about mid-stomach height. "You're going to lean on the door and keep your hands right there, yes?"
"Yes," she affirmed. "Yes, Sir."
"So good. I always loved that about you. And this, the way you submit. This was always good, wasn't it?"
"Yes, Sir, " she agreed again. "The sex was never the problem."
"Neither was the discipline. We need this gone..." He fingered the shoulder of her loose fitting all-in-one overalls then reached around her to draw the front zipper down.
Even with the sub-zero temperatures outside, hers was hot and sticky work. Heather rarely wore anything other than her knickers under her overalls – this was not a fashion parade, after all. The fabric of her workwear opened to bare her breasts. Her nipples were already hard but they swelled and pebbled yet more as the air brushed them.
"Jesus, girl, I'd almost forgotten how fucking lovely you are under all this gear." He kissed her naked shoulder as he peeled the sleeves down her arms to her wrists, then right off. The upper part of her clothing dangled around her hips as he cupped both her breasts in his palms and squeezed. He pinched her nipples, hard enough that she squealed. He chuckled against her ear.
"Do you want me to stop?"
She leaned her head back against him. "No, Sir."

#amreading 2016 Reading Challenge

At the beginning of the year, I signed up to do the Goodreads 2016 Reading Challenge. Rather optimistically, I challenged myself to read 50 books in 2016. Sounds easy, right? Ha! Not so much!
So far, I've only read 35 books and it's nearly the end of November ...
so I think I'm going to fail dismally 😡

On a happier note, I did have the opportunity to meet one of my favourite authors, Kiwi historical fiction novellist Deborah Challinor during her book release tour.
I'm currently reading the second book in her 'Convict Girls' series (see below for the first one) so it was great to meet the writer in person.

Unfortunately I completely suck at writing book reviews, but here are my opinions of the last 3 books I read (and finished - I don't rate/review books I didn't finish)

The Punishment TourThe Punishment Tour by Sophie Kisker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it!
It's ages since I've actually enjoyed a book written in 1st-person - usually they feel flat. But this was great! This book was really well written and engaging, I felt like the action was actually happening to me, like I was right there.
Love the twist at the end!

Another fantastic book by Deborah Challinor. Interesting, likeable characters, and a fantastic plot, well researched history, as always.

Author Interview ~ Daryl Devore

I'm so thrilled to have Daryl Devore on my blog today answering a few questions and sharing Brace for Impact

What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?

What's your genre or do you write in more than one?

I write in erotic anything. If I can stick erotic in front of it, I'll have a go at it. I have 2 erotic contemporary billionaire stories, an erotic twisted fairy tale, an erotic medieval romance, an erotic contemporary fantasy, an erotic contemporary crash romance and an up and coming erotic contemporary rock star romance.
Did you choose your genre or did it choose you?

It was chosen for me. I wrote a romance. Someone suggested making it hotter and ta da – erotic romance writer.

Is there any genre you'd like to try?  Or is there one you wouldn't?

Mystery. Mystery stories fascinate me.
I don't think I'd ever want to try Creative Literary Fiction. Definitely not my cup of tea.

What fiction do you read for pleasure?

Mysteries – I have all of Agatha Christies, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Dorothy L Sayers' works, plus several other authors.

Tell me a bit about yourself and what inspired you to become a writer?
I live on the Ontario side of the Ontario/Quebec border. When I'm not writing, I'm a yoga class. I love to garden and cook.
As to what inspired me - I learned to print and was able then to put my stories on paper.
What is your greatest temptation:

In men: Matt Damon – hands down – no question.
In food: chocolate – no wait- cookies – oooh chocolate cookies
In clothes: jeans – I'm a pretty casual person although I love checking out $900 Prada heels.

Your dream home - mountains or ocean?
Ocean.  My motto – Sun. Sand. Sea water.

Do you have a daily writing routine?  If so, please share.
Let's see. I get up. Head to my laptop. Check emails. Then chaos ensues as life kicks in. So no – no writing routine.

What is your favorite book?
I have no idea. I have book shelves full of my favourite book.

What is your favorite movie?
The Bird Cage.

Who is your favorite historical figure?
Favourite historical figure???? Hmmm - let's go for Joan of Arc – girl had courage.

What do you have out now?

Brace for Impact
What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?

But Fate had other intentions.

After leaving a disastrous marriage, Paix Allcot begins a new career as a flight attendant. The romance of travel plus the desperate need to be on any other continent other than the one her ex is on seems like a dream job. For the first time, Paix is no longer a trainee and the passengers in economy class are under her care. Especially the handsome passenger seated in 36C.

Guy Lapierre, undercover officer, is following a vicious human-trafficker. He has little time for relationships. Too many innocent lives are at stake. But when the plane crashes and Guy is stranded on a tropical island, he is forced to work with Paix to survive until he discovers that the man he is tracking is Paix's older brother.

Can a pink bra and a hot night on the side of a volcano save the relationship and their lives?

Review - Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.

Review- Daryl Devore likes to add unexpected events to her novels. And this one has several which if you google you’ll discover have really happened. So as you read this delightful story thinking it over the top, remember that while some events may seem improbable, life is full of improbable occurrences.
I thought both Guy and Paix were stand-up people. Paix had a moment of not so stand up when she finds her brother, but even there, when she thinks it through, she rights herself in short order. No one is perfect, but these two are really good, which results in great extreme action fun.
2 Warnings: The sex is explicit and the final chapter might scare you at first, but keep reading.

Spicy excerpt:
Paix's moans mixed with the sounds of the rain on the roof and the crashes of thunder.
Reaching up with his right hand, Guy flicked her left nipple. Twirling it between his thumb and forefinger made her grind her hips on him.
She released his mouth, tossing her head back. "I'm close. Harder."
He shifted to try to rub her clit, but their position made it awkward. "Come on, Paix." Her chest heaved against his. Each thrust up made her breasts bounce. Every movement pushed him closer to an edge he didn't want to cross. Her grip tightened on his hair, her legs squeezed against him. He felt the first wave of her orgasm. She inhaled and arched her back. He slowed his thrusts.
"No." She shook her head. "Harder."
"Can't." He puffed trying to keep in control. "No protection."
"Please, Guy. Harder. On edge. Don't care. Please." She squeezed and squirmed against him.
His restraint broke. He drove his hips upward, slamming into her. The cabin walls trembled with each thrust. "Come on, Paix. Let it all go. Now. Ah!"
Pressure built then released with a powerful shockwave, which tore through him. The building groaned and shook. His knees threatened to buckle. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he lifted her then slipped out. Cautiously moving around the unfamiliar and dark cabin, he made his way to the small bed he'd noticed during one of the flashes of lightning. He lowered her onto it then snuggled against her.
She slipped her hand back and cupped his balls. He closed his eyes and shuddered. "I need to rest." She slid a finger back and forth. His gut clenched. "Message received, but I'm beat out."
"Just letting you know that was only the first course." She giggled. "And I know it's a cliché, but I think the earth really did move. I think we had an earthquake."
"You do know we're making love on the side of a volcano."

New releases anytime soon?
One coming up in the near future – an erotic contemporary rock star romance – What Happens in Bangkok.

#SatSpanks #erotic #Scifi Free on KU!

Welcome to my blog for this week's Saturday Spankings where spanky authors share a short snippet of one of their books. This week I'm sharing an excerpt from my erotic sci-fi Taking His Human Bride. I hope you enjoy it!

Taking His Human Bride is now available to read for free on Kindle Unlimited!  So, if you haven't read it yet, now's your chance!

Taking His Human Bride hit #1 in its category on Amazon - erotic sci-fi

Here's an excerpt:

Returning to her side, Damian slapped her pussy with his fingers, a hard, punishing slap that both stung and left her wanting. His searching fingers found her protruding nub and squeezed it, teasing it, making her dizzy with desire. She could feel herself growing wet as he stimulated her clit, then he flicked it hard with his forefinger and slapped her pussy with a loud, wet splat. She groaned.

“You’re a very naughty girl,” Damian scolded her, slapping her pussy sharply again. She arched her bottom up to give him better access as his fingers delved inside her once again, his thumb rubbing circles on her clit, his fingers exploring her innermost crevice, sending tingles through her body. She moved her hips in time to the rhythmic thrusting of his fingers, moaning in pleasure at the erotic sensations overwhelming her.

But just when she came close to the edge, he withdrew his fingers, flicked her clit, and slapped her pussy several times with hard, stinging swats that made her cry out in pain, stopping the impending orgasm in its tracks. There was no relief for the aching need deep within her and she groaned softly.

Blurb:
Less than a day after two gruff military officers escort her to a government facility, Melissa Malone finds herself leaving the planet on a newly-built spacecraft heading for one of the moons of Jupiter. Unknown to most of the world, an asteroid is hurtling toward Earth and, due to her unrivaled computer skills, Melissa is one of a select group of people chosen to rebuild civilization should humanity prove unable to avert the approaching cataclysm.

Melissa’s situation rapidly goes from bad to worse when the ship is attacked and she is captured by what she can only assume are aliens. After a thorough medical examination, Melissa is given as a bride to a man named Damian. As she soon learns, the handsome officer has laid claim to her for a reason. Damian is on a mission, sent by the leaders of his world to infiltrate and bring to justice the band of renegades who took her captive… and he needs her help.

Despite Damian’s willingness to spank her soundly for any disobedience, Melissa cannot help delighting in the way her body responds to his touch, and his skillful, dominant lovemaking brings her to heights of passion she never imagined possible. But when the time comes for Melissa to put her abilities to the test with the fate of the Earth on the line, can she outwit a rogue computer expert and prove that Damian’s trust in her was well placed?
